MANHATTAN, KANSAS, US — April M. Darnell has joined the IGP Institute at Kansas State University as education manager. In her new role, Darnell will lead the design and management of the professional development distance education programs and coordinate with IGP staff, Department of Grain Science and Industry faculty, and industry professionals to support the delivery of quality on-site and virtual workshops, programs, and courses.  

Darnell most recently was instructor and lead student adviser in the English Language Program at KSU. She taught courses to international students at all levels of English proficiency, assisted students in transitioning to their academic study programs and in applying for graduate study, and developed courses for online, face-to-face, and hybrid presentation modes for the ELP and external partners. Earlier, she was an IEP associate program manager at the University of Dayton.

She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in English at Southeast Missouri State University.
