SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — As of Dec. 18, GrainCorp’s seven port zone locations had received a total of 9,010,600 tonnes of grain.
The company noted that the harvest in central New South Wales (NSW) is largely complete, with small deliveries expected over the next few weeks. A busy out-load program is under way to meet international demand.
Some rain in southern NSW over the weekend slowed harvest activity, with most of the action continuing to be around Wagga, Young, Cootamundra and Wallendbeen. Activity resumed yesterday and harvest is expected to wrap by Christmas.
Victoria continued to record good volumes over the past week, despite considerable rainfall. Harvest in the state is probably around 60% complete.
