THIKA, KENYA — Capwell Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of flour, rice, pulses and porridges, is investing 1 billion Kenyan shillings ($10 million) in a new wheat flour plant in Thika, according to an article in theBusiness Daily Africa.

The new plant is expected to have 250 tonnes of daily capacity, and will feature precleaning equipment and a storage silo with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes.

“We shall be commissioning the new wheat plant in June,” Rajan Shah, chief executive officer of Capwell, told the Business Daily Africa.

Capwell recently launched Amaize, a new high-end maize flour blend. Capwell also makes Ranee, Pearl and CIL rice, Soko porridge flour, pulses, spaghetti and pastas.
