MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — Insect pests can pose a serious threat to grain quality.GEAPS 525: Management of Insect Pests in Stored Grainwill teach basic skills needed to make timely pest management decisions while protecting the quality of stored grain and the environment.

The online course runs April 23 through May 25. Registration for the course closes April 17.

The GEAPS/KSU Distance Education Program course will provide practical nonchemical and chemical methods for controlling pests.

The course will provide participants with the knowledge to utilize preventative and responsive management techniques. As well as the proper use of grain protectants and fumigation. By the end of the course, students should be able to create and evaluate their own pest management plan.

GEAPS 525 is one of four courses required for the Specialist Credential in Grain Quality Management. Three additional courses are also available in April.
