GEAPS 545: Grain Entrapment: Causes, prevention and Rescue will be an online course and will be held May 29- June 29. Registration is currently open and closes May 22.
One of the course goals is to help attendees put emergency plans in place and identify regulations, initiatives and standards. The course should take about 10 hours to complete.
“This course made me much more aware of the accidents that can occur and risks involved when entering a grain bin,” said Ryan Townes, Green Plains, Bluffton. “It was very good at covering dangers, followed by rescues. It gave me a much deeper understanding on how to identify risks and how to respond properly to a situation.”
GEAPS 545 is one of four courses required for the Specialist Credential in Property and Casualty Risk Management. For more information on courses and credentials, visit the program website.
