SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — GrainCorp announced on March 16 the appointment of Steve Haydon as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of GrainCorp Malt, following the resignation of Ian Wilton.

GrainCorp Managing Director Alison Watkins said, "Ian Wilton has decided to resign, as he wishes to seek new opportunities to further his senior executive career. During his time with GrainCorp Ian made a significant contribution. He was the chief financial officer and acting CEO, before leading the successful integration of United Malt Holdings as president and CEO of GrainCorp Malt. Ian has agreed to assist with the handover to Steve Haydon, and will leave us in late April with our best wishes."

Haydon, currently the president of GrainCorp’s U.K. malting business, Bairds Malt, has been appointed as the new president and CEO of GrainCorp Malt, and a member of the GrainCorp executive team, effective immediately.

“Steve has over 20 years of malt industry experience, strong relationships with customers, and has held senior management roles in GrainCorp’s U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries, Great Western Malting and Canada Malting Company,” Watkins said. “GrainCorp is fortunate to have such a qualified and experienced internal successor. Steve will continue to be based in the U.K., and will work closely with me to ensure that GrainCorp Malt continues its important contribution to the overall performance of GrainCorp.”
