WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — Ag Growth International (AGI) is standardizing its North American galvanized steel bins to 4-inch-wide corrugation, which will result in the closure of its Grand Island, Nebraska, US, facility.
The standardized bin format strengthens AGI’s storage catalog in the United States and provides dealer customers with new products that increase their ability to compete in the widely adopted 4-inch corrugation market, AGI said.
Wide corrugation bins, previously available to customers in Canada and select northern states now will be made available across the United States.
“We are strengthening our offering of 4-inch-wide corrugation products across the US market and enabling our dealers to be even more successful,” said Scott McKernan, AGI senior vice president of US Farm.
The Grand Island facility predominantly manufactured 2.66-inch narrow corrugated bin walls.
“It is a difficult decision to close a plant like Grand Island, which has a proud legacy of serving agriculture,” McKernan said. “We are grateful for the dedication and contributions of our Grand Island employee team. Our priority, right now, is to assist our employees during this transition process.”
