KYIV, UKRAINE — Ukraine’s grain exports are down 19.5% so far in the 2020-21 season to 7.05 million tonnes, Reuters reported, citing the economy ministry.

A decline in corn sales to 570,000 tonnes from 1.85 million tonnes a year earlier was the primary reason for the volume drop.

Wheat sales are down slightly to 4.46 million tonnes from 4.82 million tonnes last season.

Ukraine is the fourth largest wheat exporter. It exported 56.5 million tonnes in the 2019-20 season, Reuters said.

No government estimates have been given for grain exports in 2020-21.

Harvest estimates for 2020 are around 70 million tonnes due to poor weather, down from a record 75.1 million tonnes in 2019.
