MATTOON, ILLINOIS, US — Effingham Equity (The Equity), a farmer-owned cooperative, has reached agreement to acquire all the grain facilities and assets of Littlejohn Grain, Inc., a fifth generation family-owned grain company.

Operating since 1923, Martinsville, Illinois, US-based Littlejohn Grain serves Illinois grain producers in Clark, Edgar and Cumberland counties with four grain elevators located in Martinsville, Westfield and Snyder, Illinois, US, and a shuttle train loader on Route 40 in Martinsville.

Established in 1919, The Equity serves more than 5,000 member-owners in Illinois and Indiana. The cooperative offers a wide range of products and services, including grain marketing and storage, feed, fertilizer, seed, crop protection, energy, and retail. With the acquisition of Littlejohn Grain, Effingham Equity will now operate seven grain facilities with a total storage capacity of over 21 million bushels.
