SHERMAN COUNTY, TEXAS, US — JDH, a family-owned business providing a supply chain of agricultural commodities and animal feed solutions, recently broke ground on a new grain handling facility in Sherman County, Texas. The facility is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in the Southwest, complementing its existing operations in New Mexico and Texas.

“Our roots are deeply intertwined with rural America, Class I railroads and grain and commodity handling,” said Jefferson Hillman, chief executive officer of JDH. “This new facility in Sherman County is a perfect fit with our core business and a proud extension of our 137-year history.”

JDH said the facility will feature a double looped rail track, high-speed unloading systems and substantial storage capacity. The company said it plans to transport, store and process a variety of agricultural products at the site, efficiently serving the agricultural community in the Texas Panhandle region.

“This project will enhance our service capabilities to the local agricultural sector, supporting local farmers, dairies, feed yards and other producers,” said Dean McIntosh, general manager for JDH’s Southwest operations.

Construction on the facility is expected to be completed within the next 12 months, JDH said.
