CALLAO, PERU — Alicorp completed its new wheat reception expansion project earlier this year in Callao, Peru.

The storage facility has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes with 500-tonne-per-hour handling equipment and two reception pits. All material handling equipment, structures, and sensors were supplied by Sweet Manufacturing Co. and installed by their local millwright SISTEPRO S.A. based in Lima, Peru.

The excellent market results and new storage will help Alicorp provide a satisfactory performance of its Consumer Goods in Peru, the company said.

Regarding the businesses led by Alicorp, Consumer Goods in Peru stands out due to its innovation strategy and solid presence in the traditional channels, which include mom and pop stores and market stalls.

The project was designed with a double reception hopper to increase the unloading efficiency of trucks and equipment designed and manufactured for commercial use in G140 steel, AR steel lining on the sides and bottom, heavy-duty gear motors, monitoring systems, and self-supported structures.

Also included was multiple entry and access points to maintain the speed of the equipment and the physical condition of imported wheat.
