LEOTI, KANSAS, US — An employee at Seaboard Foods’ feed mill in Leoti, Kansas, US, was killed in what appears to be a grain entrapment accident, AGDAILY reported, citing the Wichita County Sheriff’s Department.

First responders received a call on Aug. 11 from crews at that feed mill reporting someone trapped in grain inside a rail car. It took 30 minutes for responders to free the person, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are still investigating the death.

Seaboard Foods operates eight feed mills, producing 2.4 million tonnes of feed per year for pigs on its nearby farms.
