BERLIN, GERMANY — For the third year in a row, grain harvests of all types in Germany will fall below average, largely due to extreme weather conditions, Reuters reported.

The harvest estimate of 42.4 million tonnes is nearly 5% below the average for 2015 to 2019, the German Farmers’ Association (DBV) said.

The country will harvest 21.1 million tonnes of winter wheat in 2020, down from 22.8 million tonnes a year ago, DBV said.

The winter rapeseed harvest is expected to increase to 3.3 million tonnes from 2.8 million tonnes in 2019.
