SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL — Brazil set a new soybean export record in April. The country exported 16.3 million tonnes of soybeans during the past month, an increase of 9.4 million tonnes compared to the same period last year, according to newly released Brazilian government data, Reuters reported.

The previous monthly export record was set in May 2018 with a total of 12.35 tonnes of soybeans exported, Reuters said.

The country’s harvest continues as producers finish gathering this year’s bumper crop.
