ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, — Louis Dreyfus Company B.V. (LDC) announced on April 9 that Adrian Isman has accepted the role of chairman of the board of its sister company Biosev, effective immediately. Isman maintains his roles as head of North America at LDC and chairman of Calyx Agro Ltd.

Patrick Treuer has stepped down as Biosev’s chairman to focus on his responsibilities as LDC’s chief strategy officer, a key position as LDC enters a new phase of growth. Treuer will remain a board member of Biosev, as vice-chairman.

Following these changes, LDC has appointed Anthony Tancredi to replace Isman as head of its Grains Platform, effective immediately. Tancredi joins LDC’s senior leadership team, reporting to Ian McIntosh, chief executive officer.

A U.S. national, Tancredi built his 30-year career within LDC, holding various key roles over the years, including as CEO of Allenberg Cotton Co. and subsequently head of LDC’s Cotton Platform. He more recently served as head of the Sugar Platform at LDC since 2016.

“I would like to thank Adrian for his contributions to LDC’s grains business,” McIntosh said. “His appointment as chairman of Biosev underlines the Group’s continued commitment to our sister company. I am also pleased to welcome Anthony Tancredi as the new head of our Grains Platform and member of our senior leadership team. He brings to the function in-depth knowledge of LDC and commodities markets, together with a successful and diversified track record.”

Enrico Biancheri has been appointed to Mr. Tancredi’s former position as head of the Sugar Platform, reporting to McIntosh and joining the company’s Executive Group. A Brazilian and Italian national, Enrico joined the Group in 2003 as a trainee trader. Moving to Biosev (then LDC-SEV) in 2009 as commercial manager, he later served as Commercial and Cane origination director, responsible for managing all marketing and logistics activities related to the output of sugar, ethanol and electricity. He returned to LDC in 2017 as head of cash trading for the Sugar Platform, was appointed head trader for the platform the same year, and has held that role until now, making key contributions to the successful turnaround of the platform’s performance in recent years.

LDC operates its business worldwide under two segments: Value Chain and Merchandizing. In 2018, the company modified the composition of its two segments. The Value Chain segment now includes the Juice, Grains and Oilseeds platforms, along with Freight and Global Markets (formerly called the Finance Platform). The Merchandizing segment now combines Sugar, Coffee, Cotton, Rice and Dairy.
