World Grain visits African Milling School
A tour of invited guests was offered after the IAOM MEA located in Nairobi, Kenya.
The African Milling School offers professional training in the milling industry for the next generation of flour millers.
The school offers a two-year Apprenticeship Program.
Martin Schlauri, principal and teacher at the AMS, greets visitors to the school and gives a brief description of the grounds.
Visitors were treated with a tour of the facilities.
Students learn and work on state-of-the-art equipment.
Srinivas Papanna, teacher and technical instructor of AMS, tells the group what that the students are taught and shows the equipment each student works with during the course.
The African Milling School offers short courses like this Mechanical Maintenance Course.
The students get to work with equipment like the SORTEX A MultiVision Optical Sorter.
The lab allows the miller to work with the products and test the products with industry leading equipment.
