KIEV, UKRAINE — The forecast for the soybean crop in Ukraine has been raised to 4.3 million tonnes, according to a report from UkrAgroConsult.

According to the agency, the bumper soybean crop is expected to drive processing of the oilseed, but so far monthly outputs are lagging behind the first half of last year due to a reviving soybean export trade. In the seven months of the current season, Ukrainian soybean exports hit an all-time high of more than 2.3 million tonnes, UkrAgroConsult said.

UkrAgroConsult indicated that farmer interest in soybean cultivation may increase in the 2017-18 season, not decline, but soybean yield is unlikely to reach the record levels of the previous year.
