Armand Lumens

ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS — Louis Dreyfus Company B.V. announced on Dec. 6 that Armand Lumens, former Royal Dutch Shell executive, has been appointed group chief financial officer (CFO), effective March 1, 2017.

A Dutch national, Lumens has built his career at Royal Dutch Shell plc over almost 24 years. After holding a variety of M&A, business development, trading and supply chain positions in his first nine years at the company, he worked in numerous, increasingly senior upstream, downstream and corporate financing roles in the Americas, the Netherlands, France, Bulgaria and the U.K. Since 2013, he has served as the London-based CFO for Shell International Trading & Shipping, an oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and power commodities trader in the world.

“I am very excited to be joining a family company with such an impressive history and strong track record of success,” said Lumens. “As it happens, I was already doing business with LDC at the beginning of my career in the crude oil industry more than two decades ago.”

Federico Cerisoli, who was named group CFO in June 2016 after Sandrine Téran announced she was stepping down as CFO, will now assume the roles of deputy CFO and chief controlling & accounting officer, also effective March 1, 2017.

The company has had several changes in management, including a new chief executive officer (CEO) named in 2015 following a 17-month search, and changes to the supervisory board in May 2016.

Serge Schoen stepped down from the CEO position in 2013 to assume the executive chairmanship of Louis Dreyfus Commodities. When Gonzalo Ramírez Martiarena was hired as CEO in October 2015, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus was appointed non-executive chairperson of the supervisory board.

In May, Schoen was no longer a member of the supervisory board, which includes five members: Louis-Dreyfus (non-executive chairperson), Jean-René Angeloglou, Michel Demaré, Mehdi El Glaoui and Dr. Jörg Wolle.
