WASHINGTON, DC, US — The National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) has hired Elizabeth Rivera as its new director of communications and partnerships, tapping into her Capitol Hill background for the role.

Rivera was an intern with the US House of Representatives Committee on Rules and served as deputy press secretary for US Senator Debbie Stabenow and the US Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. Rivera received a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Oregon.

“Elizabeth’s experience on Capitol Hill will be a great asset for NAWG,” said Chandler Goule, chief executive officer of NAWG. “Her work will be essential in continuing NAWG’s work with industry partners and advocating for wheat priories in Washington, DC. We are excited to have her join our team.”

In addition to other organizational duties, Rivera will be responsible for sending out press releases and will act as NAWG’s point of contact for all media inquiries.

“I am excited and honored to join the National Association of Wheat Growers,” Rivera said. “I look forward to the opportunity to advocate for wheat farmers in the United States.”
