PERTH, AUSTRALIA — CBH Group notched a record 1.62 million tonnes of grain shipped in November, besting the 1.53 million mark set just last November, the company said in its Dec. 4 harvest report.

“In setting this record, the Albany Port also broke their November record, with 278,000 tonnes, surpassing last year’s record of 228,000 tonnes,” said Mick Daw, chief operations officer for CBH Group, who noted several new shipping, rail and road records.

The statewide November rail record was set with 949,000 tonnes, topping last year’s record of 876,000 tonnes. Kwinana and Albany also broke their November records with 751,000 tonnes and 109,000 tonnes, respectively.

CBH broke its November road record to port/Metro Grain Centre (MGC) with 588,000 tonnes, rolling past the previous record of 325,000 tonnes set last November, and monthly records were broken in each zone. The statewide November road record to all sites was broken with 727,000 tonnes, surpassing last year’s record of 405,000 tonnes.

“These records are a fantastic achievement, and I’d like to congratulate the CBH team, contractors and transporters for their commitment to delivering value for WA growers,” Daw said.

While the pace of wheat, barley and canola deliveries has slowed amid rain and harvest starting to wind down, CBH received an additional 1.3 million tonnes over the past week, bringing the total to 10.5 million tonnes.

CBH Group is Australia’s largest cooperative and a leader in the Australian grain industry with fertilizer to grain storage, handling, transport, marketing and processing operations. CBH Group has a network of more than 100 grain receival sites across Western Australia and four export port terminals.
