TUCKER, GEORGIA, US — The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is hosting a training program with the US Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), featuring an overview of the agency and trade facilitation, training on facility inspection packages and breakout sessions with APHIS staff.

Facility Inspection Package Training by USDA-APHIS attendees will hear directly from APHIS staff on how to better prepare export health certificate packets and ready their facilities for inspections.

The training will be Jan. 25, 2023, in conjunction with the 2023 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), taking place Jan. 24-26, in Atlanta, Georgia, US. IPPE is sponsored by the AFIA, North American Meat Institute and US Poultry & Egg Association.

“Anyone who is preparing export certificates or facility inspections for rendered products, animal-based feed or pet food, will find this program to be valuable,” said Mallory Gaines, director of market access and trade policy for the AFIA. “Members will have the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from the APHIS field staff and the Riverdale headquarters staff.”
