SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Elham Saeedabadian has been appointed to the newly established role of classification and technical manager wheat for Grains Australia.

Saeedabadian brings significant technical expertise to Grains Australia, having worked in the wheat industry in technical and research roles, including most recently at InterGrain and before that at the Australian Grains Export Innovation Centre (AEGIC).

As Grains Australia’s classification and technical manager wheat, Saeedabadian will manage the functions, operations, technical aspects, promotion and development of the Wheat Classification Program. She will start on Oct. 31 and be based in Perth, Western Australia.

“Elham is an experienced food scientist with an excellent understanding of quality testing methods and a strong background in planning and project delivery,” said Megan Sheehy, general manager classification at Grains Australia. “Her experience and knowledge will be a real asset to the Grains Australia team as we deliver this core function that drives value for the Australian wheat industry.”

In addition to working with the wheat industry and broader classification team, Saeedabadian will serve as an important link between the technical functions of wheat classification and the Grains Australia Wheat Council.

“I am excited to work on the already successful Wheat Classification Program and the opportunity to provide Australian wheat varieties that are fit for purpose and deliver for the entire wheat value chain,” Saeedabadian said.
