LONG XUYEN CITY, VIETNAM — Tan Long Group, a Vietnamese rice producer, dedicated its new paddy-to-rice Hanh Phuc Rice Mill with a grand opening Jan. 18 in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, Vietnam.
At 1.7 million square feet and 240,000 tonnes of total onsite storage, Hanh Phuc Rice Mill is the largest rice plant constructed in Vietnam. It will produce 1,000 tonnes of milled rice per day.
Denmark-based SKIOLD said it worked with Tan Long Group in consulting, designing, and supplying the post-harvest handling and storage solutions for the mill, including systems for unloading, cleaning, drying, storing, conveying, monitoring and control system. Switzerland-based Bühler Group supplied the rice milling system.
Vietnam is one of the world’s largest rice producers and the third-largest exporter, behind only India and Thailand. In 2021-22, the country is expected to export 6.5 million tonnes of rice, according to the Economic Research Service of the US Department of Agriculture.
