ADRIAN, MISSOURI, US — One man was seriously injured following an explosion at a grain bin.

The Bates County Sherriff Office said it received a call at approximately 10:45 a.m. about an explosion at the West Central Agri Services Adrian, Missouri, US, location. The explosion was in the area of the grain storage bins.

Chad Anderson, Bates County Sherriff, told KMBC News 9, once on scene one man was found injured from an explosion inside a grain storage bin.

The man was LifeFlighted to a Kansas City hospital and no other injuries were reported.

Anderson thinks the explosion originated inside the grain storage bin causing damage to concrete bins and buildings in the area.

The Bates County Sheriff does not suspect foul play and is looking at grain dust as the possible explosion source, but it has not been confirmed.
