KIEV, UKRAINE — Ukraine grain exports in the first four months of the 2019-20 marketing year are up 38% compared to the same period a year ago, Ukraine’s agriculture ministry said on Oct. 31.

The ministry said 17.9 million tonnes of grain have been exported thus far, including 10.9 million tonnes of wheat, compared to 7.4 million tonnes during the first four months of 2018-19.

Ukraine also exported 3.2 million tonnes of barley through the first four months of 2019-20 and 3.5 million tonnes of corn.

Ukraine ranked fifth in wheat exports in 2018-19 at 19.5 million tonnes and fourth in corn exports at 30.3 million tonnes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
