LEAWOOD, KANSAS, U.S. — Agspring expanded its local management team of subsidiary Thresher Artisan Wheat with the addition of Max Mobely as director of regional operations.

“Max is an operations leader who understands quality, process efficiency, safety, and how to continuously improve the experience of producers and customers,” said Mark Beemer, chief executive officer of Agspring. “Working with key farmers and milling companies, we’ve helped evolve the wheat trade in Eastern Idaho from an export commodity to a high-quality domestic supply chain and Max will be critical in keeping our operations successfully running and shipping high-quality Idaho wheat to our customers.”

Mobely is responsible for all Thresher operations in Eastern Idaho where the company sources, stores, handles, cleans and merchandises some of the highest milling and cereal-quality wheat in North America.

Mobely oversees all operations, including facility superintendents, the cleaning plant, repair and maintenance, quality control and all seed facilities. Thresher operates an identity preserved (IP) sourcing program for wheat that includes seed sales, sustainability data collection with leading growers and an SQF Level III cleaning facility to provide high-quality wheat to consumer food companies and flour millers.

He recently served as operations manager for Central Prairie Cooperative in his home town of Nickerson, Kansas, U.S., overseeing 15 cooperative locations.  He joined the co-op after several years with Cargill, including working as plant manager in Kansas City where he led a zero-injury safety culture achieving exemplary safety audit scores. He was also production supervisor in Carleton, Nebraska, U.S., where he supervised multiple projects, including a multi-million greenfield shuttle loader.

Agspring is a U.S.-based company operating a large elevator and barge operation in Louisiana and Arkansas; an extensive sustainable sourcing infrastructure in Idaho providing more than eight different types of milling-quality wheat serving the milling and food processing industries; gluten-free ingredient supplier; and a third-party transportation services division expediting numerous agricultural, food and beverage products to critical end users.
