BOYDEN, IOWA, U.S. — Farmers Coop Society announced on April 13 that it plans to build a $14.75 million feed mill in the Boyden, Iowa, U.S., the Sioux City Journal reported.

The new facility, which will be in addition to the existing feed mills, will have the capacity to manufacture 3,000 tons per day, of which 1,000 tons will be pellets.

The newspaper reported that when fully operational, the new mill will require 45 semi loads of ingredients, up to 70 loads of corn and produce 115 semi loads of complete feed per day.

"Boyden is the heart of FCS’s present feed territory, and this location will optimize transportation efficiencies for ingredients, as well as finished feed,” Farmers Coop Society feed manager Brad DeVries told the newspaper.
