Peter W. Hjort Jr.

ROME, GEORGIA, U.S. — Peter W. Hjort Jr. has been promoted to president of Southeastern Mills, Inc. He succeeds Linda Owens, who will remain with the company as chair.

Hjort joined Southeastern Mills in 1998 and has held several leadership roles, including vice-president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer, secretary and treasurer. He most recently was c.o.o. since October 2016.

He began his career with Flowers Foods in 1981, holding various roles in accounting and finance.

Hjort graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in accounting.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Southeastern Mills into the future,” Hjort said. “It is an exciting time for our business as we continue to grow and build on the success we have enjoyed in the past.
