NORWICH, VERMONT, U.S. — King Arthur Flour Co. on March 23 issued a voluntary recall of 6,300 cases of organic coconut flour after testing revealed the presence ofSalmonellain one bag.

King Arthur said the only product affected is the 16-oz bag of organic coconut flour with “best if used by dates” of Oct. 25, 2018, and Dec. 4, 2018. The flour was sold nationally via retailers and distributors. King Arthur said coconut flour sold through its web site, The Baker’s Catalog, and the Baker’s Store in Norwich do not include bags from the recalled lot.

“Consumers who have any of these affected products should not consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for credit or refund,” King Arthur said.

The company said it has received no reports of any injuries or illnesses associated with the recall, and it has commenced an investigation as to the source of the problem in the supply chain.

“Customers have trusted King Arthur Flour products in their kitchens for over 225 years, and that’s why we have issued this voluntary recall,” the company said. “We remain committed to providing our customers safe and superior products.”
