MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY — Chief Industries is adding to its South American team with Alejandro D. Merino-Chief Agri as regional sales manager and Juan Pablo Merino-Chief Agri, project manager.

Alejandro D. Merino 

A native of Argentina, Alejandro D. Merino received his mechanical engineering degree from the National Technological University in Buenos Aires.  He is fluent in both Spanish and English, comprehends technical text in Portuguese, German and French, and has completed postgraduate courses in the fields of Efficient Negotiation and ISO 9000.

In 1975, Merino started his professional career as a junior mechanical designer at the headquarters of Bühler SA in Buenos Aires, Argentina, specializing in the design of industrial and commercial receiving, storing and dispatching facilities such as grain port terminals and storage plants for producers, feed mills, flour mills and rice mills.

Merino has amassed a wide range of understanding within the grain storage industry. He has facilitated customers from around the globe in the design and building of their projects to ensure maximum functionality and efficiency at the most economic price available.

Since September 2000, Merino acted as the regional sales manager for the Latin American Division of Global Industries, until April 2017 when Ag Growth International acquired the company.  He continued in that role until joining Chief Agri in February 2018.

Juan Pablo Merino is also a native of Argentina and received his bachelor’s degree from Argentina’s UADE University in the field of international business Trade. He is fluent in both Spanish and English languages.

In 2000, Pablo Merino started his professional career at the Argentinean market research company, Milone & Asociados.  In 2005, Global Industries Latin American Division appointed him project manager until April 2017 when Ag Growth International acquired the company. During his years at Global Industries, Pablo Merino developed the knowledge and valuable experience essential for project management, budget planning, logistics coordination and customer service for his Latin America territory. He continued in such position until transitioning to Chief Agri on February 2018.
