HAMBURG, GERMANY – German grain trading house Mackprang has applied for insolvency proceedings,Reutersreported on Feb. 12.

Chief Executive Jens Kass said work will continue while a provisional administrator holds talks with creditors, according to the report.

The Hamburg-based company, founded 139 years ago, is involved in trading of milling and feed grains, malting barley, and feed meals such as rapeseed meal and soy meal.

The company’s main shareholder is Bohnhorst, a German trading house.
