This included flour and semolina mills in Ghana, Hungary, Serbia, Kenya, India and the Philippines.
In 2018, the company said production and installation has started for 18 new mills.
Alapala said with its doubled capacity, thanks to a new production plant, it increased its focus on R&D and automation, while expanding production range.

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, US — These are the top 10 largest US wheat-durum-rye milling companies, based on US mills and milling capacity as listed in Sosland Publishing Co.’s 2024 Grain & Milling Annual. The United States has 147 wheat, 17 durum and 12 rye mills. Total US daily milling capacity is 1,653,347 cwts, and the top 21 companies represent 96.2%.
