Wheat stocks were down 4% year on year at 9.72 million tonnes, corn stocks were down 2.5% at 14.23 million tonnes and barley stocks decreased 26.8% from a year ago to 1.74 million tonnes, the State Statistics Committee reported.
Rye stocks were up 28.5% year on year at 198,000 tonnes.
The agency said the decline in grain inventories was primarily due to a smaller harvest and an increase in wheat and barley exports in the first half of 2017.
Ukraine's Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine announced on Dec. 11 that it has revised the country’s grain production forecast for 2017 upward by 300,000 tonnes, to 62.3 million tonnes, down from the 2016 output of nearly 66 million tonnes.
