VLOGODONSK, RUSSIA – DonBioTech Company recently announced that it intends to launch a plant for advanced grain processing in Volgodonsk, Russia, in the fall of 2018. Its construction is under way, according to a report from UkrAgroConsult.

 

The first part of the $250-million facility is to be completed in December 2017 and the second part will be finished in the first quarter of 2018, the company said, noting that the plant is expected to become operational approximately six months after the second phase of construction is completed.

 

Capacity of the processing facility is projected at 250,000 tonnes a year, DonBioTech said. The plant will produce 100,000 tonnes of lysine, roughly 20,000 tonnes of gluten, 11,000 tonnes of starch and 95,000 tonnes of bran a year.

DonBioTech’s partner in the joint venture, Evonik Industries Company, said it intended to export most of these products to the Middle East.
