KYIV, UKRAINE — The State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU) recently met with the China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC) to discuss increasing grain supply volumes to China.

Following the meetings, the two groups agreed to work together to ramp up grain supplies. The SFGCU and CCEC also discussed the formation of a Ukrainian-Chinese interdepartment working group.

“It is important for us to focus on successful performance of agreements between Ukraine and the People’s Republic of China,” said Dmytro Gavrysh, head of the SFGCU. “Therefore, we will use best endeavors in order to ensure stable supply of Ukrainian grains to the People’s Republic of China.”

The two groups also stressed the importance of negotiations, and agreed to work toward improving communication in all areas of possible cooperation.

The SFGCU shipped 702,000 tonnes of grains to the CCEC in the 2016-17 marketing year, up 11% from the previous year, according to UkrAgroConsult.
