Joel Newman, IFIF chairman, said that the FAO’s focus on five strategic objectives, emphasis on working in a goal-oriented manner, and its strong efforts reaching out to the private sector have made a tangible and positive difference in the long-stating collaboration.

“Together with the dedicated colleagues at the FAO, we have achieved very important milestones, including the International Feed Regulators Meetings, the Livestock Environment Assessment and Performance partnership, as well as the Global Feed and Food Congress series, and your relationships continues to strengthen year to year,” said Newman, who is also president and CEO of the American Feed Industry Association.

Daniel Battaglia, Animal Development Officer at the Animal Production and Health Division of the FAO, said the organizations addressed a number of critical issues of common interest during the meeting “such as the need for capacity development to ensure feed safety and the importance of collaborating to tackle the containment of antimicrobial resistance.”

IFIF is made up of national regional feed associations, feed-related organizations, and corporate members from around the globe, representing over 80% of the feed production worldwide.
