MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — 537 facilities at 39 companies enrolled in the 2010 Grain Elevator and Processing Society’s (GEAPS) Safety Awards Program. Of those enrolled, 425 facilities at 29 companies were successful in completing 2010 without any lost-time injury or illness, GEAPS announced on March 2.

On March 1, during the GEAPS Exchange General Session, GEAPS recognized these facilities for their outstanding achievements. In addition to the 2010 facilities, GEAPS also named successful facilities in the categories of cumulative hours and consecutive years.


Successful Facilities: Cumulative Hours

Fifth place - 871,459 hours; Cargill AgHorizons’ Morristown, Indiana, U.S., facility

Fourth place - 871,736 hours; The Andersons, Inc., Champaign, Illinois, U.S., facility

Third place - 980,502 hours; Cargill Grain & Oilseeds’ Houston Export Elevator, Texas, U.S., facility

Second place - 1,031,456 hours; Farmers Grain Terminal Greenville, Mississippi, U.S., facility

First place - 1,189,456 hours; Bunge North America’s Morristown, Indiana, U.S., facility

Successful Facilities: Consecutive Years

Fifth place, with 22 years each, are:

• The Scoular Company’s facility in Sidney, Nebraska, U.S.

• Bunge North America’s Newport, Arkansas, U.S., facility.

Fourth place, with 24 years each, are four Bunge North America facilities:

• Huffman, Arkansas, U.S.

• Hickman, Kentucky, U.S.

• LaGrange, Missouri, U.S.

• Yazoo City, Mississippi, U.S.

Third place, with 25 years, is Cargill AgHorizons’ facility in Tipton, Indiana, U.S.

Second place, with 28 years, is the Bunge North America Fountain Bluff facility in Grand Tower, Illinois, U.S.

First place, with 32 years, is Bunge North America’s facility in DeSoto Landing, Arkansas, U.S.
