ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS — Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has made some executive changes in leadership in its EMEA region.

According to a LDC spokesperson, David Ohayon remains senior head of the grains and value chains platforms as his duties of head of the EMEA region were taken on by Pedro Nonay Vela. In addition to Nonay's new role he also remains head of oilseeds of EMEA.

Ohayon joined the business directly after graduating from the University Pantheon – Sorbonne in 1990, where he received a master’s degree in business and marketing. He first worked in Paris and then in Madrid from 1991-94, leading the grains business for Iberia. He returned to Paris in 1994, still within grains, and later moved to Geneva in 2006, taking over the regional platform responsibilities in both Europe & Black Sea and Middle East & Africa. In 2013, he was appointed global senior head of grains, and took on additional responsibilities as part of his current role in 2014.

Pedro Nonay Vela

Nonay joined the company in 2007, after nearly 20 years at Cargill. At LDC, he was appointed oilseeds manager for the company’s then Europe and Black Sea (EBS) region in 2010, and took on additional responsibilities as head of distribution countries in 2015. The following year, Nonay took over his current position as regional head of oilseeds, and was subsequently appointed to his role as head of EMEA region in 2017. Nonay graduated from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) with political science, sociology and law degrees, and completed an Executive Business Program at IESE Business School in Lisbon (Portugal).

The company has had several changes in management. In March, Armand Lumens was appointed group chief financial officer (CFO).

Federico Cerisoli, who was named group CFO in June 2016 after Sandrine Téran announced she was stepping down as CFO, assumed the roles of deputy CFO and chief controlling and accounting officer in March as well.

In 2015, a new chief executive officer (CEO) was named following a 17-month search, and changes to the supervisory board were made in May 2016.

Serge Schoen stepped down from the CEO position in 2013 to assume the executive chairmanship of Louis Dreyfus Commodities. When Gonzalo Ramírez Martiarena was hired as CEO in October 2015, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus was appointed non-executive chairperson of the supervisory board.

In May 2016, Schoen was no longer a member of the supervisory board, which includes five members: Louis-Dreyfus (non-executive chairperson), Jean-René Angeloglou, Michel Demaré, Mehdi El Glaoui, Andreas Jacobs and Dr. Jörg Wolle.
