LONDON, ENGLAND — Alexander Waugh, director general of the National Association of British and Irish Flour Mills (nabim), and Bernard Valluis, president of the European Flour Millers’ Association, are among the speakers scheduled to present at the IGC Grains Conference 2017.

The event, set for June 5-6 at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster, London, attracts a mix of traders and policymakers from across the world. This year’s event marks the 26
th gathering, which includes interactive sessions and panels of expert speakers.

Amid broad-based shifts in the political and economic backdrop, panelists will assess the main opportunities and threats faced by the world’s grain and milling industry. Specific topics to be discussed include how global trading patterns will develop in the medium term and how producers, exporters and importers are responding to the evolving trading environment.

In addition to Waugh and Valluis, other speakers include: Chi Jingtao, executive vice-president of COFCO Corp. and chief executive officer of COFCO International and COFCO Agri, China; Haitham Nouh, CEO, Roots Commodities, Egypt; Seth Meyer, chairman, World Agricultural Outlook Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture; and Grant Lewis, managing director and head of research and business management, Daiwa Capital Markets Europe Ltd.
