SYZRAN, RUSSIA — Russia is planning to build a grain elevator in Syzran that would provide for grain transit along the Volga River to Iran, according to a report from UkrAgroConsult. The new facility is expected to ease the logistic connection between Iran and Russia.

According to reports, the parties involved in the project have not been disclosed, but indications are that talks are under way with some large Moscow, Russia-based agricultural holding companies.

The administration of the Syzran municipal district has said the project was initiated by the regional industry and technology ministry, according to UkrAgroConsult.
