KIEV, UKRAINE – The Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine announced on Dec. 30 that it has raised its grain export forecast for the current season (July 2016–June 2017) by 1.3 million tonnes, up 3.3%, due to increased corn export estimates.

 

It said the forecast for Ukrainian grain exports in 2016-17 rose to 41.6 million tonnes from 40.2 million. The corn export forecast was increased from 17.2 million tonnes to 18.5 million.

Ukraine exported 21.22 million tonnes of grain in 2016-17 by Dec. 22, 2016, including 10.88 million tonnes of wheat, 4.25 million tonnes of barley and about 5.99 tonnes of corn.

Ukraine exported 39.5 million tonnes of grain in 2015-16, which was up 13.5% year on year.
