The 50,000-square-meter facility will employ 500 people.
CORUM, TURKEY – Alapala is increasing the size of its factory in Corum, Turkey, which will allow it to double annual production, the company announced in August.

The 50,000-square-meter facility will employ 500 people, and is expected to start operations in the last quarter of the year. The research and development department also has been expanded.

The facility has been equipped with advanced technology, Alapala said. Production is expected to eventually triple.

“We are glad to make our second biggest investment in Çorum. We are one of the leading brands in our sector,” said Görkem Alapala, vice-chairman of Alapala’s board of directors. “We export 95% of our production to more than 100 countries. We aim to increase the number of countries where we export our products up to 120 through our new investment in Çorum.”

Alapala started producing milling machines at a small workshop in Çorum in 1954, and now has become one of the two biggest machine producers of the world. Alapala, which exports milling machines to more than 100 countries, recently delivered its 600th turnkey factory.
