WUTHA-FARNRODA, GERMANY — PETKUS Engineering GmbH on Sept. 5 said it has acquired Simeza Silos Metalicos Zaragoza S.L. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Zaragoza, Spain, Simeza has more than 30 years of experience in the grain, flour and industrial product storage business. In Europe, the company was one of the pioneers in silo design, manufacturing and assembly, and today the company is represented in the market through specialized professionals, technology and advanced production facilities.

Simeza will continue to independently provide its products to customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central and South America, but also now will add a special silo design to enhance the engineering and turnkey projects of PETKUS Engineering.

Within its grain division, PETKUS said it focuses on “practical, tailor-made, complete plant solutions.” The company has more than 350 employees with sales, service and engineering hubs in 23 countries. The company said it has installed more than 300,000 cleaning machines and 2,000 complete seed lines in the past 40 years.

“Overall, adding Simeza enhances the PETKUS Engineering GmbH portfolio and is sure to strengthen its market position,” said Heike Knörzer, head of knowledge management at PETKUS.
