MANKATO, MINNESOTA, U.S. — Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) was recognized on May 5 for excellence in workplace safety and health at the Governor’s Safety Awards luncheon at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S. ADM is one of 309 employers that were honored through the awards program, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council.

“Employers like ADM know that safety isn’t automatic,” said Paul Aasen, president of the Minnesota Safety Council. “It takes attention, dedication and continuous effort for ADM to protect its employees.”


This is the first year the Mankato Processing facility earned the Award of Honor.

“The safety of our employees and contractors is a top priority at all of our facilities, and we are extremely proud that we have only had one lost work day injury in almost eight years. It’s also been nearly two years since the last recordable injury at our Mankato facility,” said Brad Bouma, manager of the facility. “This achievement is a testament to the teamwork and focus of our employees at Mankato, and we look forward to continuing to build on this record even further.”

The Governor’s Safety Awards luncheon is part of the 82nd Minnesota Safety & Health Conference, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council.
