The whole feed mill group from Kansas State University visited the Walinga Inc. booth during the International Production and Processing Expo for a group photo with their new central-vac system.
GUELPH, ONTARIO, CANADA — Walinga said in February that it has donated a central vacuum system to Kansas State University (KSU), Manhattan, Kansas, U.S., for its feed mill.
The central vacuum system will be installed in KSU’s feed mill to help keep the environment and other mill equipment clean and therefore help prevent any dust related explosions, Walinga said.
The O.H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center at the KSU Grain Science Complex in Manhattan was dedicated in October 2013. The facility, which stands 142 feet tall — twice as tall as the Hal Ross Flour Mill located next to it — includes a modern, automated 5-tph production and teaching feed mill and a biosafety-level 2 teaching and research mill.
