CORUM, TURKEY – Alapala Machine announced in January that it won three awards in the Industrial Design category at the Good Design Awards, one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world.

Awards were also given to global companies such as Apple, BMW, Tesla, Mercedes and Schneider Electric.

Organized by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the Good Design Awards are presented to the best industrial and graphic designs from around the globe. Now in its 65th year, the Good Design awarded products and graphics are added to the Museum's Permanent Design Collection. The awarded milling machines of Alapala Machine -- Similago II, Aurora and Arion -- will also take their place in the museum.

“We export 95 percent of our production and we are one of the top companies in the world in our field, and thus we continue creating value for Turkey,” said Görkem Alapala, Alapala Machine vice-chairman. “This award that we won, is proof of Alapala's focus on design.”

Founded by the The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. in 1950, the Good Design Awards is a program awarding the most innovative products and graphic designs from around the world. Every year, designers and manufactures from more than 50 nations are recognized for their contributions contemporary design. Since 1950, approximately 40,000 products have been awarded and exhibited at the museum.
