TUNICA, MISSISSIPPI, U.S.  — Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. (CGB) announced on Sept. 18 the completion of construction at its newest grain terminal in Tunica, Mississippi, U.S.

"CGB is excited about this new river terminal. Both this facility and our newly constructed elevator in Osceola, Arkansas, U.S., will introduce customers to some of the largest and most efficient handling capabilities along the inland river system,” said Steve Everett, facility manager. “Our merchandisers are eagerly serving producers in Northern Mississippi and Southern Tennessee.” An open house is planned following fall harvest.

This new state-of-the-art, high capacity facility is operating with four receiving pits, two high capacity shipping legs, a river belt, and a high efficiency grain dryer. In addition, customers have access to cgbonline.com, a secure site where they can view up-to-date information regarding their grain transactions, contracts, tickets, and settlements at any time, and a free smartphone app available for download in the app store.

“We look forward to becoming valued members of Tunica and the surrounding communities, while providing the best service to the area’s grain producers and truckers,” said Murray Schwieger, CGB group manager.
