ERLANGER, KENTUCKY, U.S. —  Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) announced on Sept. 24 the opening of its new information technology and support center, which is located on the same campus as ADM’s WILD Flavors offices in Erlanger, Kentucky, U.S.

“As our company continues to grow, our global I.T. capabilities and infrastructure have to expand at the same time to support that growth. This new technology center enables us to attract new I.T. talent to our organization as we expand our company and our technical capabilities,” said Juan Luciano, ADM chief executive officer.

“We are excited to grow our presence here in Erlanger,” Luciano said. “This center is a great example of the many synergies we’ve been able to capitalize on following our acquisition of WILD Flavors last year. Co-locating the facility on the WILD campus in Erlanger gives us access to a strong local talent pool of I.T. professionals in Northern Kentucky and the entire Greater Cincinnati area, and also allowed us to execute this expansion in a cost-conscious way.”

About 70 employees and contractors are currently based in the center. The staff will eventually expand to approximately 200 ADM colleagues. The majority of the positions will be newly created as ADM expands its global I.T. support and infrastructure. In addition, 1ADM—the planning and implementation of the company’s new enterprise resource planning system—will be supported at the new facility.

To support the development of the center, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) approved tax incentives of up to $5 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. In order to qualify for the incentives, ADM has committed to recruit heavily in Kentucky for the newly created positions at the center. KEDFA also approved ADM for tax benefits of up to $200,000 through the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act.

“ADM’s decision to expand operations in Kentucky and add 200 jobs speaks volumes about the opportunities our Commonwealth offers,” said Steve Beshear, governor of Kentucky. “Since January 2014, the food and beverage industry in northern Kentucky announced 46 new or expanding projects and $423 million invested. With the industry adding 3,100 new jobs over that time, it’s great to welcome ADM as a contributor to that growth.”

ADM will be recruiting to fill a wide variety of positions at the Erlanger center, including project managers, business analysts and solution integrators. On Oct. 22, ADM plans to host an open house at the new center for I.T. professionals and others interested in learning more about the company and its new facilities. More information about the event, and the positions ADM is looking to fill, is available at www.adm.com/erlangerITjobs.

“We are excited to expand our presence and create jobs in Erlanger,” said Marty Schoenthaler, ADM’s chief information officer. “We look forward to continuing to work with local educational institutions, recruiters and community leaders as we grow this new facility and our I.T. capabilities.”

ADM will maintain its existing I.T. center at the company’s North American headquarters in Decatur, Illinois, U.S., and will also continue delivering I.T. services from several other ADM locations throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia.
