JIANGSU, CHINA — FAMSUN announced recently that trial production at a feed facility it constructed for Wuhan Chia Tai Group started on April 15.

The $2.4 million project covers an area of 92,266 square meters and includes one extrusion line, two pelleting lines for shrimp and crab feed, two hard pellet fish feed lines as well as an extra extrusion line. The first phase of the project can produce 150,000 tonnes of aquafeed per year.

The facility features the WEM4000 computer batching system with high batching precision that can measure the consumption of power, seam and materials of unit; record equipment deviation and warn the maintenance staff to conduct preventive maintenance. Efficient inventory management also ensures production is carried out for timely delivery.

There are 19 auto samplers for the production lines. After automatic packing and coding, the samples are delivered to the master control room by belt conveyor for testing. Products with different specifications can be sampled at one time.

The facility has a dedicated line for the materials to save space and time, reducing labor and the cost of packaging, FAMSUN said.
