KIEV, UKRAINE — U.S. investors and representatives of the Ukrainian government met in Washington, D.C., U.S. to discuss investing $1.5 billion in the agricultural sector. The groups met during the Ukrainian-American Business Forum on July 13. 

"I cannot name names, but can I say about the general numbers that were heard. The two companies wish to invest in port logistics, one company, the seed business, and one company, the recycling business in the food industry," said the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksiy Pavlenko.

“U.S. companies are ready to invest half a billion dollars in the near future,” he said.

In addition the Export-Import Bank of the United States is considering a loan of $1 billion for the purchase of agricultural machinery.

Pavlenko said Ukrainian farmers have established good cooperation with American companies such as AgCo, Monsanto and Dupont Pioneer.
